He pursues this endeavour with unflinching resolve, heedless of fellow deportees’ exhortations to help them organise an insurrection. ![]() Emotionally awakened, Saul comes up with an impossible task: to save the boy from cremation and find a rabbi who can give him a proper burial. His chilling routine is disrupted when he witnesses the death throes of a boy he decides was his son.
